Oishi Barrio will be an open-air daytime market from 12 to 7 p.m.

 

Is Oishi Barrio an all-ages event?

 

Obvi! Bring the entire family; the kids, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and all your friends are welcome!

 

Where is Oishi Barrio?

 

Oishi Barrio will be held at the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center (JACCC) Plaza located at 244 San Pedro Street in the Little Tokyo district of Los Angeles.

 

Is Oishi Barrio a free event?

 

Yes! Oishi Barrio is completely free to the public.

 

Is Oishi Barrio pet-friendly?

 

Of course! Your furry friend is part of your family and as long as they’re on-leash, welcome to have fun at Oishi Barrio too.

 

Will there be food for sale at Oishi Barrio?

 

Would it be a tasty barrio without it? A prepackaged Hello Stranger chef-prepared brunch menu will be available for purchase.

You can grab cash at various ATMs in the area:

 

Wells Fargo Bank - 232 E 2nd St Ste G

From JACCC Plaza, head west and then right onto San Pedro St. (2 min. walk)

 

Chase Bank - 335 E 2nd St

From JACCC Plaza, head west and then right onto San Pedro St. Turn right onto Azusa St. and then left onto Japanese Village Plaza Mall. (3 min. walk)

Will there be dietary options for all lifestyles?

 

There will be Keto, vegetarian, and Vegan options available.



Will there be beverages or alcohol for sale?

 

Yes, a 21+ bar will be onsite. Drink tickets are taken at the bar and can be purchased at the Hello Stranger merch booth. Tickets are non-refundable and only valid on the day of the event. Non-boozy beverages will also be available for purchase.

 

Will Oishi Barrio have a designated smoking area?

 

JACCC Plaza and Oishi Barrio will be a smoke-free environment.

 

Where can I park?

Metered street parking is available as well as various paid parking options close by.

What happens if it rains?

 

Oishi Barrio happens rain or shine! Fortunately, JACCC Plaza has indoor and canopied spaces available to stay dry.

 

Is Oishi Barrio every month?

 

Oishi Barrio will happen on a rotating Sunday once a month. The next Oishi Barrio events will be on June 13, July 11, Aug 15, Sep 19th. You can find out more about the next Oishi Barrio events here.

 

Are public restrooms available?

 

Bathrooms will be available in the Aratani Theatre in the southwest corner of JACCC Plaza.

 

How does Oishi Barrio handle Covid safety?

 

Oishi Barrio is a Covid-compliant event. The Hello Stranger staff is trained in the latest Covid compliance best practices and will continue to adhere to comprehensive Covid-19 health and safety protocols.

 

Do I have to wear a mask?

 

No mask, no entry! To adhere to current local, county, and state regulations regarding Covid-19, all attendees must wear masks while not actively eating or drinking. If you don’t have one, we can hook you up!

 

Will there be sanitation areas available at Oishi Barrio?

 

Absolutely. We want everyone to feel comfortable and be safe.
