Hello Stranger presents Oishi Barrio -
A new open-air market experience
The historic cultural hub of Los Angeles’ Little Tokyo district will be home to Hello Stranger’s first Oishi Barrio on May 16.
Los Angeles (Tuesday, May 11, 2021) - Hello Stranger announces Oishi Barrio, a new open-air market experience. Oishi, meaning tasty or delicious in Japanese, and Barrio, the Spanish word for neighborhood, will be a first-of-its-kind open market experience in Little Tokyo with local vendors like Mi Vida, One Two Threads, and La Sirena Shop. A Hello Stranger chef-prepared brunch, as well as beverage (boozy too!) options, will be available for purchase with DJ sets by Ruben Molina, DJ Bles, and Mark De Clive-Lowe.
A revolving event to be held one Sunday a month, the first Oishi Barrio will be held in the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center (JACCC) Plaza, home to Aratani Theatre, on Sunday, May 16, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT.
Oishi Barrio is a COVID-compliant event with sanitation considerations. Hello Stranger staff is trained in the latest Covid compliance best practices and will continue to adhere to comprehensive Covid-19 health and safety protocols.
